Message Had an issue with my 90 N/A idle hunting so we replaced the IACV. Along the way, we found and fixed a vacuume leak in that area as well. The car runs better than it ever has. Idle is another story though.

NOW, when the car is at temp and in nutral or park, with no accessories on, the idle is around 900. However, when the car is put in gear, the idle drops to about 600rpm. Turn on the lights and put it in gear and it drops to about 500rpm. Same is true when I stop for a light - idle drops really low, but car does not stall. Park it and turn off the lights and it jumps back up to to 900 again.

Cold idle characteristics are about the same, but overall a bit higher - like 1200rpm in park. Doesn't want to stall any more.

Any ideas why it might be reacting this way ? Too high when cold, too low when hot? What is with the big drop when I put it in gear.....never did that before..
